WHAT IS REFORESTATION?
Reforestation is the process of restoring land areas that were previously forested to their forest state. In many parts of the world, humans have damaged ecosystems by cutting down trees and other vegetation. When this happens, not only are the trees lost, but also the ecosystem services that they and the ecosystem as a whole provide.
The reforestation projects that Ecologi supports help to revive ecosystems by planting native trees, but also by working with local communities to ensure continued, sustainable use of the land. Through this approach, reforested land can bring a host of benefits to local people and local wildlife.
